It’s safe to say Ubisoft has a massive hit on its hands. Just days after revealing that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced had sold 2 million copies at launch, Ubisoft has announced another major milestone. The remake has now surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide in just one week across all platforms.
The news was shared through the official Assassin’s Creed X account, where Ubisoft thanked fans for their overwhelming support. Alongside the sales milestone, the publisher also confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is officially in development.
The announcement doesn’t come as much of a surprise given the game’s incredible launch. Black Flag Resynced immediately became Ubisoft’s biggest Assassin’s Creed release on Steam, setting a new franchise record with more than 100,000 concurrent players shortly after launch and comfortably outperforming last year’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The remake’s strong start has also fueled speculation that it could eventually become one of the best-selling entries in the long-running franchise if the momentum continues.
That said, the launch hasn’t been entirely smooth. Some players criticized Ubisoft’s heavy emphasis on day-one cosmetic microtransactions, while others were frustrated by a temporary Ubisoft Connect outage that left PC players unable to access the game despite it being marketed as playable offline. The issues even led to a brief wave of negative Steam reviews before the game’s overall rating recovered in the following days. Even with those setbacks, it’s clear they haven’t slowed the game’s commercial success.
