Unlike standard combat-heavy events, the Big Bloom is structured as a multi-stage operation that integrates resource collection, specific elemental damage requirements, and a tiered boss encounter.
In short, it is much more a tactical occasion than a warfighting one. Luckily, the location serves as a protected zone where nuclear strikes cannot be targeted, making it a rare safe haven for extended community interaction.
Availability and How to Join
The 2026 season of the event is scheduled to run from May 19 through June 2. During this two-week window, the event triggers automatically at the top of every hour on public servers.
In order to participate, players must travel to Susan’s Cabin, located at the absolute eastern edge of Skyline Valley, adjacent to the Cranberry Bog border. Upon arrival, players have a seven-minute window to speak with Black-Eyed Susan to initiate the proceedings.
Pro tip: the Event is available to everyone, though lesser-leveled players will have a hell of a tough time getting around it. While open in nature, it is recommended you join a public team to maximize efficiency during the gathering phases and ensure survival during the final combat stages.
Strategic Phase Breakdown
According to the event’s information, success in the Big Bloom is determined by the completion of three distinct, timed stages. Failure to manage time in the early stages can lead to a deficit during the final boss fight.
- Stage 1: The Collection Phase is the initial task, requiring players to gather three specific flower varieties from the meadows surrounding the cabin: Carnal Weepers (red), Crystalcups (blue), and Radlilies (yellow). The team must collect and deposit 30 of each type into the designated baskets near the cabin entrance. Players should remain vigilant, as Susan has protected her property with mines to deter pests like Bloatflies and “Beezlebabies”—a flower-overgrown variant of the traditional Honey Beast.
- Stage 2: The Fire Requirement makes the second stage, often referred to as “Crispy Overgrown,” and it requires players to set 25 Overgrown enemies on fire. This is the most technically demanding phase, since the enemies must be actively burning when they die for the kill to register toward the objective. Standard ballistic or energy weapons without fire modifications are ineffective here, and players without specialized gear like the Cremator or Holy Fire can find “Weed Killer” (custom Molotov cocktails) in a “Boom Box” located on the cabin’s roof.
- Stage 3: The Beezlebub Encounter marks the final phase of the Big Bloom event. Once the Overgrown are cleared, the final boss—Beezlebub, Giant Bee of Yore—will spawn near the meadow. Following the successful completion of the event, there is a 33% chance that Bigfoot will spawn as an “uninvited guest”. He is not “new” per se—he was included in the game as a “Cryptid of the Day” about three months ago. Still, it is nice to see his appearance chances increased for this event.
It bears to mention that Bigfoot is a formidable opponent who just so happens to be immune to radiation, crippling, and staggering effects. Players who successfully neutralize this threat are eligible for high-tier loot, including a 25% chance to obtain the “Thrill-Seeker’s” 4-star legendary mod, which increases reload and melee attack speeds based on the player’s current killstreak.
Due to the boss’s high damage output, staying on elevated terrain like rocks or the cabin roof is advised.
The Complexity of Floral Crafting
Another core feature of the Big Bloom is the introduction of a “mobile-merge” style crafting system managed at the Tinkerer’s Bench. To engage with this system, players must first learn the plan for Susan’s Floral Secrets, which is a guaranteed reward for those who have mastered the basic flower crown plans.
This system allows for the creation of seven hybrid flowers (such as the Green Invader, Embergold, and the rare Gigablossom) by combining basic flowers with nuclear material. These hybrids are essential for high-level recipes like Black-Eyed Susan’s Soothin’, a potent brew that provides a 5% XP boost and 10% damage increase for one hour.
For maximum efficiency, players should utilize the Green Thumb perk and Gamma Green Tea to double their harvest from event-rewarded flower pots.
Reward Pools and 2026 Exclusives
The 2026 season features a refined reward structure. While many legacy items return, the Garden Stein serves as the primary new addition for this year’s rotation.
